I was up in Seattle, Washington for good ‘ole Thanksgiving. I am still full. “Black Friday” rolled around and I hit downtown with the family. My mother showed me into a great boutique called Butch Blum. Wonderful clothing accompanied by wonderful people. Everything from Giorgio Armani to Ermenegildo Zegna all wrapped up in a warm, spacious storefront.

After waiting in the cold outside of a high end lingerie store the girls had dropped in I chain smoked my way up to the Louis Vuitton on University and 4th Street. I’ve read some reviews about the store and how it is very unpleasant and unwelcoming. I couldn’t disagree more. I was greeted by a doorman who tripped and fell flat on his face. I helped him up and quickly got inside, sheltered from the Pacific chill. The store was wonderful, everyone was extremely friendly. In fact, compared to Barcelona, London, Beverly Hills and New York I would have to say every single salesmen and woman topped my list. My only disappointment was the lack of selection. So I moved on across the street.

Gucci Seattle had just opened their doors a week earlier and it showed. Everyone was fresh and brite, and ready to serve. I actually got a tour around the store from the manager (she loved my glasses) and got chatted up by the girls in the luggage department. I’m not very into Gucci but the polite attitude of all the staff members made me want to buy one of those hideous, Ed Hardy-esque, Tattoo Heart Collection bags. I thoroughly suggest trying on a pair of the Gucci Studded Babouska Flat Boot’s. They come in mensand womens sizes in a variety of styles and are on sale now.

After grabbing coffee at the original Starbucks in Pike’s Place Market we hustled over to the Army Navy Surplus for some novelty browsing and then up to Barneys New York. All in all it was a great desinger shopping experience.

Glad to hear about the Gucci and how everyone was eager to serve.
My friend is working there at the moment.
